Filing your claim is a straightforward process. Because your race registration fee and your insurance policy are handled by separate companies, you will work directly with the provider to get your money back.
Here is exactly how to file your claim:
1. Locate Your Insurance Confirmation
When you registered, you received two separate confirmation emails and saw two distinct charges on your credit card statement. One was from RunSignUp for your race entry; the other was from ProTech / Red Shield for your policy.
Search your inbox for ProTech or Red Shield. Open that email and scroll to the bottom. You will find the exact instructions and policy numbers needed to submit your claim.
2. File Your Claim Online
If you cannot find that confirmation email, you can start the refund process online right now by visiting the claims portal directly.
Go to fanshield.com/file-refund-request
Select the Red Shield option from the menu.
Follow the prompts to enter your information and submit your request.
3. Policy Refunds
If you bought this insurance by mistake and simply want a refund on the premium you paid, you must also handle this directly with the insurer.

Click the Contact link and fill out their form to request a cancellation.
Our local Tallahassee Marathon race committee does not have access to their systems. We cannot process these insurance refunds or look up your policy details.
